Permissions Explained

GreenLine VPN requests the following Android permissions to function properly:

• CAMERA: Used exclusively for scanning QR codes to configure VPN settings. No images are stored or transmitted.
• INTERNET: Required to establish a secure VPN connection to protect your online activity.
• VPN (VpnService): Allows the app to create a secure VPN tunnel for content filtering.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Enables the app to automatically start protection when your device restarts (optional feature).

Data We Do NOT Collect

GreenLine VPN is a zero-data-collection application. Specifically, we do NOT collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
• Browsing history or visited websites
• Messages, photos, contacts, or location data
• Device identifiers or analytics
• Any information that could identify you or your device

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties because we simply don't collect any data in the first place.

Camera Permission & QR Code Scanning

When you use the QR code scanner to configure your VPN settings:

• The camera is used only to read the QR code
• No images are captured, stored, or transmitted
• The QR code data (VPN configuration) is processed locally on your device
• Once the configuration is imported, no trace of the QR code remains

On-Device Processing

All content filtering and VPN operations occur entirely on your device:

• Your internet traffic is filtered locally through the VPN tunnel
• Filtering rules and block lists are stored on your device
• No browsing data leaves your device or passes through our servers

POPIA Compliance

GreenLine VPN is fully compliant with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) because:

• We do not process any personal information as defined by POPIA
• All processing (VPN filtering) occurs on your device
• You maintain complete control over your data at all times

Children's Privacy

GreenLine VPN is designed to help protect families, including children, from harmful online content. Since we do not collect any information from users of any age, the app is safe for children to use with parental or guardian consent.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Any updated version will be accessible from within the app and on our website.
